Fundraiser for Breakthrough Cancer Research & Marymount Hospice Returns to the Water
After a Covid-enforced break, Baltimore Sailing Club’s unique cancer fundraiser, Women on the Water, returns on Thursday 11th August 2022. BSC has issued an open invitation to all – locals, visitors and tourists – for a great day out in Baltimore Harbour, kicking off with a fun morning swim, the traditional afternoon treasure hunt on the water with fantastic prizes, competitions for the best dressed boat, a charity raffle and auction, live music on the Square, pink cocktails and great food, all for the entry fee of €30 for adults and €10 for children.
This year’s event will be the 5th Women on the Water. Founded in 2014 by then BSC Commodore, the late Joan Collins, and now continued by her daughter, Odharnait and the team at the Club, Women on the Water promises to be a great and fun day on the water, whilst raising funds for Breakthrough Cancer Research and Marymount Hospice.
With the only criteria for the event being a pink dress code and ideally a lifejacket, the village and harbour of Baltimore will transform to a waterpark-like fun zone, with dinghies, kayaks, RIBs, sailing boats and currachs taking part in the competitions on the water. Given that the event was stopped by Covid restrictions for the last 2 years, this year’s Women on the Water event promises to be an extra special WOW event!
Tickets can be purchased at registration at Baltimore Sailing Club on Thursday 11th August at 2pm!
