The Irish Laser Association’s Munster Championships is a highlight of the Irish dinghy sailing calendar and one of the most eagerly anticipated events for ILCA (formerly Laser) sailors across the country. As the first major regional regatta of the year, it signals the official start of the competitive sailing season and plays a vital role in the Irish Laser Association’s championship circuit, alongside the Leinster, Connacht, Ulster, and National Championships.

This year the event takes place on 19th & 20th April 2025 in Baltimore making it the first big test for sailors after the winter break. The event is often hosted by Baltimore Sailing Club in County Cork, a favorite among competitors. Baltimore is a regular host for this event.

Racing is spread over two days Saturday and Sunday, with courses designed to meet international ILCA standards. The event draws top-level competitors from across the country, ranging from youth sailors looking to make a mark, to experienced seniors and masters returning for another season of competition. The racing is run by seasoned race officers with strong safety teams on the water, ensuring smooth and fair competition in all conditions.

More than just a regatta, the Munsters are a social highlight too.
